The NSJTA is looking for volunteers to assist to coordinate representative teams as part of the Tennis Events Committee.
The NSJTA enters teams in seven main representative events/competitions each year:
- Daphne Fancutt Shield — January (2-day event)
- Pat Cash Cup — January (3-day event)
- Wayne Arthurs Cup — April (2-day event)
- Junior Pennant — July to November (Sunday mornings – 10-week season)
- Pat Pearce Carnival — September (3-day event)
- Frank Sedgman Cup — August (2-day event)
- Alicia Molik Cup — December (2-day event)
Volunteers would be allocated a representative event to organise. The role of event organiser would include:
- Reviewing the list of applicants received from online nomination forms
- Selecting the team for the event in consultation with other members of the Tennis Events Committee in accordance with the NSJTA’s Representative Events Selection Policy
- Advising applicants of the outcome of their application
- Registering the team with the event organisers
- Providing players with relevant event information, including location, match times etc.
- Ensuring players have NSJTA t-shirts and balls are supplied were applicable
- Where possible, being onsite for the event or selecting and briefing a team manger to —
- liaise with event hosts
- co-ordinate with parents and players during the event
- determine award winners for NSJTA when applicable
- provide players with NSJTA event recognition wrist bands.
